We have taken two of our best items and combinded them together to
create one incredible tamper. Tamper is an matte finished
Espressocraft tamp handle and custom brass bezel mod'd to fit the
classic Espresso Parts height convex piston.
Why the Espresso
Parts piston? Well our original piston design was machined to a
vertical height on the sides that complimented a perfectly dosed
basket. Basically, if you dosed correctly the piston edge would meet up
perfectly with the basket edge. Besides knowing wether or not you were
dosing accurately, leveling could be easily confirmed with a quick
glance or feel. Besides all that being able to order the Ninth Street handle with any sized piston we carry is a nice feature too.
The story of the EC/EP tamp was to be a short one. With the advent of last year's Home-Barista.com Tamper Roadshow we at Espresso Parts got to thinking about putting together the Espressocraft Handles with our pistons since both have the same thread size and pitch. We know how much everyone loves "modding" stuff we figured this would be a welcome mix for more than a few like minded barista out there.
Long story short, we liked the brass/stainless contrast so much that we ended up making the "EP hybrid" bezel out of brass too. After a
few email exchanges and a new batch of our old style, taller convex tamper pistons and presto the Espressocraft/EspressoParts hybrid was born.
